2.20 million-year-old fossils of Ape-Man discovered in 1980 and onwards
from the Siwalik Hills at Nadah Sahib and at Nepli.

In 1830 Dr. Hugh Falconer an English Army Surgeon had collected 5 tons of fossils of the lower mammals like deer, buffaloes, horses, etc from the Siwalik Hills near Chandigarh and transported them to the British Museum of Natural History. There he announced that someday Ape-Man fossils too would be discovered from the Siwalik Hills. On 19th October, 1982 Prof. Kennedy from USA announced “first discovery of the Ape-Man fossils from the Siwalik Hills goes to Dr. Singh” at The International Symposium on the Geology of Kashmir and Central Asia.Kindly visit the Google: The Siwalik Hominids.
